Welcome!
I've been involved in photography for about 30 years. Most of that has been landscapes and architectural photography. While I still enjoy that, I've become more and more interested in photographing people and the creative possibilities that can occur in a studio environment (not to mention being indoors when the weather hits -40!). To that end, I have rented a studio and have been roping in anyone I can to come and pose for me.
So now, whenever I come across a truly great photograph, I try and analyze it to determine how the lights were placed so that I can learn from the best. The one thing that can make visualizing the process easier is the lighting diagram.
On this blog, I will be putting up some of the lighting setups that I have used as well as others I have found to help others on the same journey that I'm on. If you have some that you wish to contribute, please send me an e-mail or leave a comment.
Working within a budget is also a priority, so I'll post some of the DIY solutions for lighting gear I have built as well.
Comments are always welcome, but keep in mind that I'm not a studio lighting expert... yet.
